Market entry
Competitors
Our product in Dandora dumpsite will be relatively new in the market simply because we will be the only ones providing the protective gears to the trash pickers as compared to our competitors. We are going to educate the trash pickers and assign a few foot soldiers to help pass the information by word of mouth we will start with five hundred targeted customers but the number is expected to increase with time.
Our competitors are other small businesses owned by the middle men, cartels and the NGO’s in Dandora. The middle men and cartels are there to exploit the people and pay them very little and they go resale at higher price.

One of our main reason into the business is to help the locals from exploitation by providing them with protective gears and tools to increase their collection hence earn extra income. what makes us different from the rest is the fact that we provide protective gears and pay our customers higher than our competitors while using our products.

Competing values
What differentiate our business from other businesses is the fact that we provide special packages of using our protective gears and tools like carts, light, gum boots, gloves and gas mask which help them in a number of ways;

For the carts it will increase amount of trash collected, light will increase number of working hours for those who would wish to, gas mask prevents them from toxic gases, gloves and gum boots provides them from injuries caused by broken glasses and nails. The waste collected will be sold to recycling companies.
Growth
We have set down good business model which allow explanation plan for our business to reach a good number of our targeted customers in a systematical way from year one onwards. After rolling it out and achieve a positive result it’s our wish to get more partnership from the Kenyan government and other partners to initiate the business model to smaller slums around Dandora and Nairobi at large like Kariobangi, Mathare, Kibera, Kawangware, Korogocho among others.

Buy & Lease
Since we are not able to manufacture our own tools and safety equipment we are going to outsource I bulky to get some discount price. After that we will provide training to 100 customers in year zero to educate them on how to use and operate before rolling out the business in year one.
Launching
First we are planning to run out the training in year zero then full implement the business in year one onwards. The training will entail educating the trash pickers on how to use the safety gears and how it will improve their livelihood
Marketing
