Our business system comprises of two value chains. We provide value to two categories of customers and both customers are a source of revenue.
Below is a brief overview of our value proportion showing how these customers obtain value from our us and how we gain from these customers
Value proposition Customer segment
-
Safe working environment and income 1. People collecting trash(dumpsite)
-
Sustained and reliable supply of trash 2. Recycling companies
REVENUE STREAMS $$$$$
Both customers bring revue to our business in different ways:
-
Our primary customers bring revenue through trash. We get a fraction of some trash as form of payment on the materials leased.
-
And the other customers pay cash on the wastes they are sold.
FIRST VALUE CHAIN
1. SUPPLIERS - Suppliers of the protective equipment and any other product useful for the customers. A number of companies in Nairobi produce these equipment therefor low bargaining power from the suppliers and most like a quality of goods to keep customers. we need good quality of equipments so to prove the benefit of our offering.
2. COMPANY MAZINGARA NI AFYA - Once we purchase the equipment it will stored in a warehouse and kept in the warehouse until we sign contracts with our customers and verify the contract terms. The equipment will be handled by advanced receiving and inspection processes, secured warehouse (CCTV, security personnel). Mazingara ni afya will be responsible for the collection of trash from the customers who have rented our. Our company will not impose the use of the equipment but it will ensure that they accept the use based on the benefits attached to using the products. The administrative department will be responsible for the procurement, human resource as well the cash flows.
3. NGOs - We will partner with Ngos that are currently working on educating programs on the dumpsite. They will help us to educate the customers on the benefits of using our product and help them understand the importance of the offering. There are about 10 Ngos currently working on the dumpsite, running health programs.
4. CUSTOMERS (visiting the dumpsite and collecting trash) - Finally the product is rolled to the customers, with a very defined payment agreement on renting or leasing our product, the customers will use our product and we will ensure a profitable sale of their wastes to recycling companies.
5. EFFECIENT AND PRODUCTIVE WORK DONE BY CUSTOMERS - End result, more productivity, increase in the amount of wastes collected and less injuries and of course less money spent on medical bills.
SECOND VALUE CHAIN
1. SOURCE OF WASTES - Trash collected from the primary customers will be sold to the recycling companies. We shall sale both the trash we got as form of payment from the protective equipment and the trash that belongs to the customers.
2. LOGISTICS - The trash will be collected from the dumpsite using carts, and brought to the company premises by the customers with the supervision of our employees. There will be different container storages of trash that will store specific type of trash. e.g. glass, plastic, scrap metal, and paper.
3. MAZINGARA NI AFYA(SELLING WASTES) - Wastes received will be sold to the recycling companies based on their invoice order receipt. And payment will be made in form of cash upon collecting of the wastes. We will give the suppliers of trash money based on the amount of trash received.
4. RECYCLING COMPANIES - Other segment of customers, these are our secondary source of income and play a role of using the wastes collected from the dumpsite. They equally play a significant role in the value chain by;
-
Helping us achieve our vision of promoting health environment through clearing the dumpsite.
-
Providing a stable income for the people living in dandora and working on the dumpsite to have a living.
5. END PRODUCT- They get to make plastic poles, glasses, roof tiles from the wastes collected. And these are sold to the people in Kenya.
Enabling Mechanism- Our enabling mechanism concentrates on our primary customers
-
The use of our product will reduce the time and money spent on medical bills, they earn 300 shillings (30shillings/kg by 10kg) a day and they spend 1000 shillings for medicals.
-
An extra amount of money will be received by our customers, normally they sale one kg of wastes at 30 shillings and after using our products they will gain 15.5 shillings extra for each kg sold.
-
Safe working equipment and even carts will mean more wastes picked, more wastes sold and resulting effect of an improved income received.
-
The use of lighting equipment will make them work for long hours and maybe they will get to make permanent shelters away from the dumpsite. the major reasons they make temporary structures is to work until the sun-sets and work very early waiting for the sun to rise.
