Assumptions & Risks

Assumptions

Our first assumption is that people would like to have a safe and clean environment. This assumption is quite right according to our research. But we also found out that the Dandora dump site is a way of life and death. Of course people would like to live in toxic free environment, but the dump site is a way of making a living for thousands of people. So just removing the dump site is out of the question.

Our other assumption was that people are scared of diseases and would like to get rid of them. After this assumption re reached out for the local people of Dandora and asked their feedback. What we heard from them was that people are not really concerned about their health issues even though they should be. This is why we need to team up with NGOs to educate the importance of health and what are the benefits of working safely on the dump site.

Other problems/assumptions we had on Dandora dumpsite were visual pollution, greenhouse effect, damage of crops and tourism affected negatively. And even though these assumptions were right, we decided to define our core problem to the people who work in the dump site every day.

One big assumption for our is that people are actually willing to worj for us. 100 people for the testing period, 500 for the first year, 1000 for the second, 3000 for the 3rd and 5000 for the 4th year. This assumption is quite important because our business can only work if people collect trash with us. That is why creating awareness and telling people the value of our business is so important. Before actually starting our business, we are going to have a testing period for 100 people which lasts one month. Within this one month people get to know our products and methods of creating a safer and more effective working situation.
