We are going to help Dandora people who are going to the dump site every day. We are thinking about leasing our products to this people working on the site,

 

Providing  them with protective gear and also use of better equipment for them to work efficiently. When they collect the waste , we sell it to the bigger companies.

 

Our product feature is the reflection of the customers desires and responding to their fears and anxieties.

  • Stability, being able to provide for their families and meet their basic needs.

  • They desire is to work for longer hours.

  • Reduce spending on medical bills or buying medicine from these smaller chemists.

  • The women especially desire to pick up any type of trash with the use of protective materials that will not injure them. This may reduce gender inequality they face sometimes on the site

  • Not to be exploited

 

-Anxieties:

  • Being able to survive.

  • Whether the wastes will be bought from them.

  • Exploitation from the sales agents.

  • Insecurity, they face threats sometimes from cartels.

  • The illegal tax they have to pay to the cartels.

  • The existence of the dumpsite(what if the dumpsite is no longer there).

  • Scared of amount spent on treating their diseases, especially the respiratory infections.

Mazingira ni Afia focus on the supply of safe and effective equipment for the collection of rubbish.

We rent equipment in exchange of collected trash.

As finally we re-sell the rubbish gained to Local recycling companies. This activities help us achieve our main goal which is providing stability for our customers. creating means for stable income to improve their way of living

KEY PARTNERS:

 

Access to an initial capital is vital to start up our business. Investment  protective-equipment will be needed.

 

Furthermore licenses and patents are necessary in order to open a company in Kenya.

 

In adition Human capital and technical know-how are essential to achieve our objectives.

 

In conclusion our business needs a phisical location and proper infrastructures.

REVENUES:

 

  • Major revenue streams will be from the leasing of our equipment to the customers(people on the dumpsite).

  • Receiving the wastes we are getting in exchange of the protection and lighting equipment we shall lease to the customers. This wastes will be used to raise money.

  • It will be sold for 65 shillings per 20kg of waste.

 

In Dandora  no one is offering such a product of leasing out or selling equipment. At first people may be baffled about it. But this is actually a small price compared to the medical treatment people need to get because of the injuries and infections they get every now and then. If our products can reduce injuries and improve their efficiency of the amount of wastes collected then it is all worth it. This is something we need to point out to the residents.

CHANNELS:

 

Working together with NGOs and local youth self-help-groups. This is how we can get the biggest effect on the residents.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS:

 

By providing our first customer segment safer working environment, we are trying to create long lasting customer relationship. Our goal is that people in Dandora dump site will mainly start to use us as a middle man. When customer relationship is in order, everything will be easier.

 

We aim to provide a service recovery strategy that will help us build a strong relationship, in an event we fail to deliver the product to their expectation we have to recover it right and make them more satisfied.

 

COSTS:

 

At first, getting the safety equipment and providing them to the workers will be a rather big expense. Also renting a hall for the collected waste will cost money. Even though these will cost money, our business can not survive without them.

 

CUSTOMER SEGMENTS:

 

Our customer segment is composed by people going to the Dandora dumpsite everyday to collect trash. By helping them use safer ways collect wastes  will benefit the whole society living in Dandora. These people are our core customers.

 

Our secondary customer segment are bigger companies who will buy the waste in bigger parts.
